SCC CERT Home Page

The South County Communities Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is designed to complement professional Fire and Police organizations in disaster situations where uniformed fire, rescue, and medical services are overwhelmed. CERT self-activates in disaster situations. CERT training & direction is provided by Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue. SCC CERT is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation.

Membership in CERT is open to all area residents. All CERT members must pass CERT training classes sponsored by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Office of Emergency Management. There are no annual dues and participation is strictly voluntary.

CERT members support HCSO in Silver Alert and can be found patrolling events such as the golf cart parade. SCC CERT is a 501(c)3 corporation & deductible contributions gratefully accepted. (Email)  

The team meets the fourth Thursday of each month (Jan-Oct) at 7:00 pm at The United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. W., Sun City Center FL 33573. All interested residents are invited to attend the meetings. (Board Meeting will be held at 6:00 pm - prior to the member meeting)
