Disaster Behavioral Health First Aid

The CDC Preparedness and Emergency Response Learning Center (PERLC) at USF is hosting two Mental Health training sessions that are Free to attend. Space limited, register for either or both sessions if interested.
Date/Time: Saturday, June 18, 2016: 8AM - 5PM (two sessions)
Location: Hillsborough County EOC, 2711 E. Hanna Ave, Tampa, FL
First Training Session: 8am - 12pm
Disaster Behavioral Health First Aid Specialist Training plus Special Needs Populations (BFASTplusSN) is a 4 hour onsite program that provides public health workers and other professionals with the opportunity to develop essential behaviors and skills to effectively deliver Psychological First Aid to disaster survivors who have special needs. Second Training Session: 1pm - 5pm
Disaster Behavioral Health First Aid Specialist Training with Responders (RFAST) is a 4 hour course that provides public health workers and other professionals with the necessary awareness, knowledge, and skills to promote behavioral health and wellness through individual team approaches for preventing, mitigating, and managing disaster worker stress and for developing disaster stress resistance and resilience to the negative effects of critical incident stress exposure. *Continuing Education Units will be provided free-of-charge to certified public health (CPH) professionals, nurses, social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and mental health counselors who fully complete the training online following the onsite training. Other professionals who fully complete the course may take their certificate of completion to a CE Broker to apply for CEUs.
